We are thrilled and immensely proud to be celebrating our recent success at the Transform Awards Europe for our brand work with British Steel. We came away from the prestigious Awards evening in London, hosted by writer, comedian and actor Russell Kane, with 3 golds, 2 silvers and winner of the overall Grand Prix Award for Excellence in Branding.
The Transform Awards recognise best practice in corporate, product and global brand development work undertaken across Europe. Having created and implemented the new brand for British Steel last year, Ruddocks, alongside British Steel and their website agency Moirae were shortlisted for 5 awards. The categories we were nominated in included Best visual identity in the industrial/basic materials sector and Best implementation of a brand development project, plus 2 special awards selected from all winning entries: ‘Best use of visual property’ and the ‘Grand Prix’.
Ian Cant, Creative Director said. “To be shortlisted in every category we entered was a real honour, but to win 6 awards was a little surprising to say the least especially considering that we were up against global agencies and some big brands such as St John Ambulance, Royal Ascot, Pizza Express, WWF-UK and ING Bank.
“Winning the overall Grand Prix is a real testament to the hard work of everyone involved. This is a result the whole team should be proud of.
“We have developed a really strong relationship with British Steel over the last few years and we’re delighted with the outcome of this project and the recognition it has received.”
Our brief to Ruddocks was to create a brand that represented a vibrant new British Steel, it was an exciting challenge and they really rose to it, as is evident in our new brand and the recognition from peers at the awards.
The award judges described the new British Steel brand as a “strong and compelling branding project” with “excellent results, particularly in employee engagement.”
Paul Banton, Managing Director at Ruddocks, added “This is further proof that you don’t need to go to a huge agency in London or a major city to get high quality creative work. Lincoln is full of excellent businesses who time and time again excel on the big stages; we are so proud that we have helped to continue this trend and long may it continue.”
