Picnic Social is a social summer gathering set in the heart of Lincoln Castle that celebrates the locally sourced food, beer, culture & community of Greater Lincolnshire.
During this three-week-long food & drink festival, locals and visitors could discover and indulge in the region's finest produce in the summer sun, and kick back to a summer soundtrack by night, with craft beers and artisan spirits, and sample incredible eats to suit every taste.
For the Picnic Social brand, the event organisers wanted something that appealed to a broad age range but most of all was fun and vibrant. Therefore, something that would contrast well against the historical setting at the castle.
They also wanted it to be instantly recognisable and scalable – allowing it to stand up well against other national foodie events and be robust for future use.

The main challenge for the event organisers was finding an organisation that could design and create custom products that didn't already exist off the shelf. And this is where our creative print solutions came in.
From crowd barriers and stage panels to custom picnic bench covers and hoardings, our team of experts helped produce a suite of bright and colourful large-format event collateral that enhanced the lively and friendly atmosphere of the festival.
In addition to a stand-out brand, Picnic Social needed high-quality deliverables and materials, something we’re set up perfectly to help with.
So, on top of designing all the brand elements, we created the staff uniforms, beer pumps, and a one-off coffee brand with Seven Districts Coffee.
Pre-event marketing was going to be key to driving footfall, so we worked with their team to develop promotional assets in the lead-up to the event, including trader information packs and graphics for social media, digital ads, and other marketing campaigns.

The opening weekend saw over 14,000 visitors and the feedback and interaction with the brand were extremely positive.
